“Love your neighbor as yourself”
United Bible Community Outreach
UBCO is “a church without walls” that serves the poor and homeless community in downtown Fort Worth. Currently, GPC is partnering with this ministry by providing facilities for the indoor food program on Saturday morning. Several members of our congregation volunteer to cook and serve a nutritious breakfast with volunteers from other faith communities.
Northside Inter-Community Agency
Several times a year, the congregation in Gethsemane takes collection drives to help with the services offered by the Northside Intercommunity Agency. NICA offers educational programs, tutoring, emergency assistance and professional social work services for low-income people, families, youth, homeless, elderly and disabled clients. NICA serves the north side of Fort Worth, Texas and the surrounding communities such as River Oaks, White Settlement, Westworth, Lake Worth, Azle, Sansom Park and Saginaw.
Trinity Habitat for Humanity – Presbyterian Build
Trinity Habitat for Humanity partners with people in our community to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat owners help build their own homes together with volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. For many years, Gethsemane has supported the work of Trinity Habitat during the annual “Presbyterian Build”, with monetary donations and also a delicious breakfast or lunch of burritos or enchiladas for the volunteers.
