“Love your neighbor as yourself”
Why is our homeless ministry called Compassion 76102?
‘COMPASSION’ – because we are following Christ’s example in His love for the under-privileged. We are also complying with His desire for the preservation of human dignity. In addition, Jesus Christ has directly called us to care for poor unbelievers.
‘76102’ – because this is the zip code in which the majority of Fort Worth’s homeless population dwells.
Pastor Jesse Says that this ministry is the best kept secret in Fort Worth – He is right!
GPC is now a hub for the homeless people on the west side of downtown Fort Worth. We serve our homeless community five days each week. No other local organization is directly involved in so many weekly homeless outreach events as GPC.
Our latest initiative is the Second Friday Dinner & Information Session, which is designed to educate homeless people about the services which are available to them in Tarrant County. The format comprises a sit-down meal, a presentation by our guest organization and a question & answer session. Most of the outreach activities conducted on our property and grounds are funded and administered directly by GPC, but we also partner with two other worthy ministries assisting our homeless friends.
United Bible Community whose mantra is “a church without walls”. They are welcomed to hold events on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons on our grounds.
